The first half is arguably the more entertaining with its relentless action climaxing in the first face-to-face encounter between Kimble and Gerard.
The action varies from a show-stopping train/bus wreck of Schwarzeneggerian proportions, to some more ironically staged pursuits which throw a welcome dash of Tom and Jerry into the mix.
Ford is once again the great modern movie everyman: dogged, determined, brave and not not demonstrative.
...the real standout is Tommy Lee Jones. For an actor whose star has been on the rise for the past couple of years, this may be the movie that finally gets him into the upper echelon of today's performers.
