Inside Balmoral

Balmoral is a secluded royal retreat that has been embraced by kings and queens since its very first royal owner Queen Victoria in 1852. This vast, 50,000-acre estate is twice the size of the city of Manchester, and resides in Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire, in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Balmoral witnessed the announcement of many important events throughout the last century and a half, from the Fall of Sevastopol in the Crimean War to the premature death of Princess Diana in 1997. `Inside Balmoral' explores the impact that events on the grounds have had on the current owner, Queen Elizabeth II.
