Det finns vissa humoristiska korn i denna vänliga komedi, om jakten på självkänsla och respekt och hur de två inte alltid återfinns på samma ställe. Annars är och förblir Joe Somebody medelmåttig.

...it's an efficiently crafted rom-com, with a fair amount of family-friendly charm.

Allen is, as usual, an appealing every man, Belushi is quietly hilarious as the B-movie burnout, and Warburton plays fatuous self-absorption better than just about anyone current employed in the entertainment industry.

The funniest moments in the film are between Allen and Belushi, hands down, with the comic veterans playing off one other expertly.

...teaches that being yourself is always better than being somebody else. Because even if you're a jerk...it's better to be authentic than to fake it.
